5K On The Runway

	5K On The Runway is a unique event that supports the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre. The Centre exists to provide support where we can care for each other as we live with cancer. Hearth Place is committed to providing a community of support for patients and their families impacted by cancer through peer support, information, a resource centre, wellness programs and an ongoing lecture and discussion series.

Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre held its 3nd Annual 5K on the Runway fundraising event in 2012. It was an enormous success! To our delight, there were over 750 participants who experienced the thrill of running or walking on the runways of the Oshawa Municipal Airport. Not only did the event raise over $63,000 to fund programming for cancer patients and their families, it was a great opportunity for corporations and businesses to support a very worthy cause while promoting their products and services.

The 4th Annual Hearth Place 5K on the Runway will be held at the Oshawa Municipal Airport on Sunday September 22nd, 2013. We thank the City of Oshawa for sponsorship in allowing participants, ranging from serious runners and recreational walkers, to families and school children, to use the runways at the airport for this event.
